The Ardosia Slate Company is local to us and we visited it when looking for new slate floor tiles. What a little gem, anything that can be made from slate, they can do it. Not only is the slate of a really high quality, but it is also very reasonable compared to other slate products of the same quality. We are not talking about the cheap thin stuff that can snap in your hands, this is really high quality slate that is very durable, ideal for roof slates and slate flooring.  The other thing that makes this product unqiue is that it is sourced from a mine owned by the company, this is a black slate quarry in Brazil so the authenticity is guaranteed. As all of the slate comes from the same location, it is all of the same colourings and quality, we were very impressed with the finish and durability that they can achieve.

Not only did we but the slate slabs for our floor but we also picked up some really nice slate coasters for our dining room. They are contemporary and we had them cut to a specific size which was comparatively quite big, they weigh quite a lot but they are very impressive as  the finish is fantastic. The quality is so good that we are looking at some slate worktops for our new kitchen, the standard worktops are really nice byt they are not durable enough when you do a lot of cooking like we do, well worth a look.

These products are all made from solid stone so they are very heavy.  For instance, a hand made bespoke stone bath would require a crane to be lifted onto any floor other than the first floor in a building!  The baths are also hand carved so that you can create a unique design and have your own totally bespoke bath!  You can also choose the type of stone, Travertine tends to be a favourite, as well as the colour of the stone.  There are a huge range of colours available for each specific type of stone although applestone is limited, as it tends to be apple colour!

Travertine World also offer standard and bespoke natural stone shower trays.  These are beautiful in design and available in a wide range of colours according to the type of stone chosen.  Again, you can have a totally bespoke stone shower tray or one of the standard designs available.  As these products are very unique, they really make a bathroom stand out and take it above the norm in terms of design and decadence.
